Shane Terry
If you step into the right Farmer’s Market, restaurant, or outdoor event in British Columbia, you may hear 19 year old Shane Terry singing and busking away on his acoustic guitar, and luring crowds of spectators enchanted by his enthusiasm and musical ease. Shane is currently attending Vancouver Community College to study jazz guitar, and songwriting. Although he is mainly known to his local community, Shane has the aspirations to branch out into other music scenes throughout North America. Come along, and enjoy watching him progress through his musical career!
Shane bought his first guitar at the age of 13, and after realizing his immediate proficiency, decided to dedicate his teenage years to the exploration and understanding of 20th and 21st century music in North America. It is incredible how quickly he has developed a professional sound. He performed at his local Dairy Queen (his first paid gig) at only 16 years of age, and he has now progressed to playing in front of larger audiences, such as restaurants, farmers markets, and private/public events. Both live, and in the studio, you can expect to hear his smooth, musical touch, and bass-baritone vocals.
There lies an obvious love for the Blues and American popular music in Shane Terry's playing and singing. His early influences include Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, and Jimi Hendrix (and many more). Now, after beginning his studies at Vancouver Community College, he has broadened his tastes, and finds himself listening to jazz pioneers such as Wes Montgomery and Charlie Parker, up to recent fusion virtuosos, including Jacob Collier.
Shane now intends to make the most of his summer, after finishing his second semester at music school. He is releasing music, getting into the studio, playing gigs, and still honing his craft. Listen to his music on Spotify, Apple music, and Youtube, and become excited for what the future holds.
