Danielle Schroeder
Danielle Schroeder is an independent indie-folk singer-songwriter based in Vancouver, Canada. Her music comes from deep within the heart, and grew out of her work as a counsellor supporting people living with cancer and those at end of life. Being with those facing their own mortality offered her a window into some of the deepest realities of being human, and inspired her to write music as a way to process and express all that she witnessed.
Danielle’s lyrics invite us to reflect on and explore the deeper questions and rumblings of being human, through emotionally rich melodies that can be both simple and mystical. Her musical roots are deeply influenced by some of the most iconic and influential female singer-songwriters of the past 50 years. These include Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, Natalie Merchant, Ani DiFranco and India Arie. Her songwriting has continue to evolve, and more recent EPs have been inspired by contemporary bands such as The War on Drugs.
Since 2018 Danielle has self-funded and released one full length album and three EPs. She performs with her band at various venues in Vancouver, BC, and is currently in the process of recording a new album aimed for release in the spring of 2025.
